
| Use MeL (Interlibrary Loan) If your search for a book in our catalog has not turned up the item you wanted, you can check in the MeL (Michigan eLibrary) system for the item, and have it sent to you from another participating Michigan library.
- When you perform a search in the catalog you will see a box on the right side with links to more information. Click on the MeL logo and your search will automatically be repeated in the MeL catalog. The MeL catalog is a combination of catalogs from participating Michigan libraries.
- When you find the item that you want, click the Get this for me! link.
- Next, choose West Bloomfield Twp PL from the picklist and click the Submit button.
- You will be asked to log in using your name and library bardcode number. Be sure to remember to choose a pickup location.
- Wait for the library to inform you that it has received the item you requested from MeL. You will receive a notice once the item has arrived.
To Cancel a Hold
- Login to your account. If you are in MeL, you can click the My Mel button.
- Click the Items On Hold button.
- Select the items to canel and click Cancel Checked, or click Cancel All to remove all holds
Rules
- MeL items check out for three weeks or one week.
- MeL items cannot be given extended (vacation) loan periods.
- Three-week items can be renewed for three weeks; one-week items are not renewable.
- Lost or damaged items are subject to the rules of the library the item came from.
