Jimmy Stewart in WWII

Author Robert Matzen tells the previously unknown story of Jimmy Stewart's service as a combat pilot in World War II. In 1941 shortly after winning an Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story, Stewart joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. He rose from private to colonel and participated in 20 often brutal World War II combat missions over Germany and France. When he returned to Hollywood, Stewart wasn’t sure he’d ever work there again. Hear how Matzen unraveled details of Stewart’s combat experiences and brought to light a story more fantastic than any Stewart brought to the screen. No registration is required.
