From the Land of the Midnight Sun
|
|
Sweden,
with its unending summer daylight, has a growing number of gifted
mystery writers that readers are taking a shine to.
According to the May issue of BookPage:
"The smallish country of Sweden has produced an inordinate
number of suspense novelists in recent years, including Henning Mankell, Asa Larsson, Ake Edwardson and the
winner of the 2009 Top of the Ice Pick award, Hakan Nesser.
Nesser's
taut new suspense novel, Woman with Birthmark, has
a premise unlike any in recent memory. In a country famous for its
fish, red herrings abound."
Check out a mystery from one of these talented Swedish authors to
enjoy during our own long summer days.
